The United States Army Corps of Engineers, Omaha District, contracted with Surdex Corporation  to produce color infrared digital orthophotography of the Missouri River from Garrison Dam to Bismarck, North Dakota.  The high-resolution (1') photography was acquired in June and July, 1999 to provide an orthobase for Corps of Engineers Missouri River wildlife habitat mapping activities.

The original project projection was State Plane, SPCS Zone 3302, NAD83, Feet.  The TIFF images have reprojected to UTM, Zone 15, NAD83, meters.

Unless you have a high speed connection (T1, DSL, Cable), you probably do not want to try to download the image files.  Contact Mark Laustrup, (mark_laustrup@usgs.gov) USGS Columbia Environmental Research Center, River Studies Station for information on other options.
